KEYS TO BECOMING A REAL MAN cont...
 Pst. Favour

 6. A real man has integrity

Integrity is more than being honest. It's a lifestyle set on striving towards moral excellence. Real men say what they mean and mean what they say. They are the same person whether or not others are watching. They are trustworthy, dependent and unwavering.

Job 27:God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.

     7. Real men are compassionate.
Compassion is sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it. In other words, you feel compelled to help someone who is hurting. Men aren't often viewed as being compassionate, but it is a trait that helps us to become more connected to the people around us. Real men turn their compassion into service and work to make the world a better place.

Matthew 14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Matthew 15:32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

     8. Real men are confident.
Many people confuse confidence with arrogance and self-centeredness and real men know the difference. Confidence is about being self-assured and self-aware. Confident men have faith in their abilities and knowledge. They don't need to tear others down in order to build themselves up. They earn people's trust with their radiant inner strength. When they walk into the room, everyone takes notice.

Hebrews 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.

     9.Self control.
Hardly a day goes by without a news report about some high profile man who has been destroyed by sex, money and/or drugs. Too many men lack self-control, but it is the foundation of a virtuous life. Self-control starts with focus and ridding yourself of distractions. Doing this isn't easy because temptations lurk around every corner. Real man are able to tame their desires and channel that energy into positive pursuits.

2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

     10. Perseverance.
Perseverance is the product of self-control. It is courageous resistance against difficult circumstances. Perseverance is only developed through trials. Real men endure the trials and emerge stronger. They never give up!

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

     11. Humility.
Today's breed of young men love to let everyone know how much swagger they have. They thump their chests and proclaim to the world, "I'm a Big Deal. Look at me!" Real men understand the value of being humble and letting someone else's light shine. They realize that humility is more endearing than self-importance. Humility indicates that you are ridding yourself of the position of self-centeredness. Besides, humility softens the blow when someone knocks you off your pedestal.

Exodus 10:And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.

Psalm 34:My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

KEYS TO BECOMING A REAL
MAN
Pst. Favour

Imagine you meet 3 males trying to convince you that they are real men and you have to decide between the 3 who is a real man. Who will you choose?

Male no.1: tells you he is a real man because he fills the traditional male role; he supports his family financially while his wife cares for the children and the home. As long as he provides a roof over their heads and food for them to eat, he is fulfilling his duty as a husband and father. this man doesn't consider his wife to be his true equal.
Male no.2: says he is a real man because he has a culturally progressive role; he shares responsibilities with the wife while they both pursue careers. He thinks of his wife as an equal.
Male no.3:  explains that he is a real man because he has been freed from  male stereotypes and has decided to take on the nurturer role of caring for the children and home wile his wife goes to work. He considers the wife equal to himself or maybe even better, since she has a more compassionate, sensitive nature than he does.

What expectations does the society have of men? Society expects;
  1. Man not to cry
  2. Man not to loose
  3. Man not to appear weak
  4. Man to always make more money
  5. Man to always have a solution
  6. Man not to show emotions
  7. Man not to be poor
  8. Man to be fearless
  9. Man to be strong
You were born a male, but you have to become a man.

     1. A real man desires and loves God and his presence.
A real man seeks intimate communion with God by remaining continually in His presence. He loves to worship God. A real man is clear about his priorities, his spiritual priorities take precedence over his physical and temporal ones.

     2. A real man seeks to restore God's image of himself.

A real man wants to be what God created him to be. He strives to be his father- God.

    3. A real man aspires to WORK and to develop his gifts and talents.

John 4: 34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work*.

5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work*.

9:I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work*.

17:I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do*.

A real man is not lazy, he has a vision in his life and he is willing to work to fulfill it. In God's economy, a man who works and makes mistakes is better than a man who doesn't do anything.

     4. A real man endeavors to learn, to live and teach God's Word and principles.

A real man has principles. He nourishes his spirit by the Word of God. God's word is the precept by which he lives.

     5. A real man demonstrates faith and inspires it to others.

A real man makes people believe that anything is possible. He inspires people to believe more, do more, hope more, and to try more.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
