The team; before auditions
 IGIZA FEST AUDITIONS
Philip Luchiemo

So after over 2 months in intensive rehearsals, prayer & fasting, the hour of reckoning beckoned; Jewels Production representing Winners  Chapel had finally come face to face with the IGIZA FEST' auditions on Sat the 23rd of June. Though a tad nervous considering this was the  first external competition they had ventured in, faith was at heart. Also, the fact that everyone was smartly dressed in their post-modern costumes, looking like true jewels, helped build up the psyche as well. The Jewels team arrived at the Kenya National Theatre at around 4pm, only moments before gracing the stage. This aroused quite the stir among some of the other participating churches who seemed to have been eagerly anticipating to behold what these "fashionably-late comers" had in store.

One would expect the audience to have been tired and bored by evening but as the team went up on stage, the saying "save the best for last" was clearly re-affirmed. They kept everyone at the edge of their seats, eyes completely glued to the breath taking play "Uptown Baptist Church". A dash of wholesome comedy mixed up with a little bit of romance, colossal suspense & a dramatic twist of events at the denouement, left the hall echoing with applause. And as fate would have it, this indeed mirrored the inevitable forthcoming verdict;
Winners Chapel proclaimed the winner with 77.7% thus automatically qualifying to the Galla Night scheduled for the 14th of July. Vigorous thanksgiving & praise to God rent the air around the vicinity as the Jewels team celebrated divine favour & distinction that encompasses this great commission. All eyes focused on these shinning jewels was evident depiction & confirmation of God's promise in Malachi 3:17

17 And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A LAZY PERSON

Laziness is

HOPE
Victor Peace Ft. Makena

I wrote the song hope thinking about how God has been faithful to my family and I especially my mum Esther Joy. It’s basically an indirect narrative of my life so far, having being raised by a single parent seeing the struggle, the ups and the downs. It’s a song that honors our parents for the much work they do just to see that we are following God’s plan for our lives. Most times we take for granted their presence and their influence and we are caught up in portraying them as this older generation who are fun killers, if we only saw the bigger picture, that they are God’s channel to us here on earth. The Bible says obedience is better than sacrifice, and respect for our parents is the only commandment with a promise. This is basically the doctrine behind this song that if we do all this, then we do have hope for a better tomorrow since the basic unit of a society is the family.

LYRICS
I just hope you’re proud of me men
Verse 1
I love you mommy, you’ve showed me a lot of things
How to treat a lady and how to become a king
And I’m feeling all this love that’s flowing inside of me
Wanted to say am grateful for all of these little things
And you see- I did you a lot of wrong
You beat me up this discipline yeah it made me strong
And I’m trying to do my best I’m hoping my mama proud
I can cope with all the stress when her knees are upon the ground
Praying that I make it- and if I find a heart she’s praying that I won’t break it
She knows the kind of pain when you raising a son alone and your father has ran away
Chose to keep her baby such mothers I say hooray
And this is my ovation to this one who showed me why salvation
I will not depart from the ways of your teaching
Like death this love is not living- it’s always goin’ to stay
I pray for your happiness, I pray for you today
That you may find favor with God in a way that you cannot explain

(And I pray you keep smiling won’t you keep smiling)*2
(Coz it always gives me hope)*2

Yeah... shout outs to my mum E.J (Esther Joy), I love you man

Verse 2
Hi new daddy you’ve taught me a lot of things
How to be a father I’m thinking I ought to be
How to be godly pleasing to God’s eyes
How to keep your family closer at all times
And as you look for money, your family comes first like before Honey
And as you still smile when it’s not so sunny
Things you sacrifice so that we keep smiling
Sometimes we all fighting Hate it when we angry
We all storm out but it’s part of the journey
But you know I still love you you’re part of an answered prayer
Still God’s blessing to know that you are there
Word to your sons, word to your daughters
Respect your folks if ya’ll want to live longer
Commandment with a promise- age is not defined
They’ve seen the world they know what it seems like
They know right like tick on a shoe Nike
They know light like stuck in a thick night
They know free when you stuck in your life tight
They’ll be the voice the mouth of the most high
So keep respecting, keep respecting keep expecting the hand of the Lord blessing
Keep respecting keep respecting keep expecting the word of the Lord blessing
(And it will always give you hope)*2

Yeah… this’ just what I feel
(Fades till end)

The is no substitute for hard work, if you want to succeed in life. Diligence or hard work is a major ingredient for success in life. It is a covenant requirement.

Proverbs 14:23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

"In all labour there is profit." "He that does not work, let him not eat." These are all covenant demands, There is is bi substitute for hard work, if you want to succeed.

A gallup poll result in America came up with a statistics that revealed that 80% of the children of successful people in America do not succeed. This is because they are not exposed to the major ingredient that makes for success- hard work. Everything is done for them, they don't know how to do anything, so they end up not being able to keep a thing.

Every destiny decays in the hand of laziness, idleness and slothfulness. Just as success is as a result of diligence, failure comes through slothfulness.

Ecclesiastes 10:18 By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

Success is impossible untill your hands are set to work.Until your hands become working hands, your life will no become a working life, for work is what determines your worth in life.

There is plenty in God's destiny for you, but the work you do with your hands is the avenue through which it will come. Even though God had promised to make Abraham great, we say Abraham getting busy with rearing cattle even at an advanced age of 75. He knew that the only way God would bless him was through the works of his hands. Genesis13:2 says this of him "and Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver and in gold." Solomon said:

Proverbs 10:He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

13:The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

In Luke 18:1, Jesus spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not faint. This was ab advice, not a command. But when it came to work, He said, "I must work." It is not recorded anywhere in the bible where Jesus said, "I must pray." This is because if you do whatever He tells you to do, you won't need prayers to get Him committed.

Proverbs 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

DON'T GIVE UP (PERSISTENCE)

Laziness is a function of giving up. Giving up is not an option we have as Christians.

Those who play hard, suffer hard

Proverbs 14:23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

Our work defines our worth. Give time to your work and don't take it casually.

Every profession has its rich people and poor people. There are rich musicians and poor musicians. There are poor doctors and rich doctors...

Everything you focus your attention on becomes something you have not seen before (you see it in new light)

Many great destinies have been reduced to nothing due to lack of zeal to keep trying and pushing something they believe in. An English saying says that 'if the deal is too sweet, think twice,' which means that more often the good things in life will not come so easily. It will require persistence for the actualisation of God's promise of a good heritage for you.

Genesis 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.
13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.
15 For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.

16 And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.
17 And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.
18 And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.
19 And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.
20 And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek(contention); because they strove with him.
21 And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.
22 And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the Lord hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
23 And he went up from thence to Beersheba.
24 And the Lord appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.
25 And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the Lord, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well.
26 Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army.
27 And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?
28 And they said, We saw certainly that the Lord was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;
29 That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the Lord.

Chapter 26 of Genesis starts by documenting the promises of God to Isaac in a land that had been stricken bu a great famine.

Genesis 26:1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
2 And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Isaac wanted to go down to Egypt where there was no famine, but God told him not to, promising that He will bless him from there.

From vs12, we see the success of Isaac attracting opposition. He could dig a well and his enemies fill it up with earth all in an effort to stop him. he digs another one and they fill it up again, this happened 4 times.

Isaac knew what God had told him and he hanged onto that word and never gave up.

The tool of despair is one of the key tools the devils has continually used to rob believers of their glorious destiny. The devil knows that there is a great promise on your life and that if you keep believing and trusting in God it's just a matter of time and the promise will come to pass, so he will bring strife and opposition to make you give up.

Don't give up, God's promise over your life is sure. No matter how bad it looks or how low you get or how dark it becomes, I have a word of God for you...that God is still working behind the scenes for you.

The knowledge of this will energise you to keep working and believing, this will drive laziness out of your camp.

Things that people easily give up on:
  1. The faith
  2. Jobs
  3. Relationships
  4. Marriage
  5. Life
  6. Business Ideas
  7. Country
When you give up, the energy to keep working slowly disappears, you lose passion in the things you were very passionate about, you even stop praying about them... the end of it is misery.

The promise of God is still true, no time to give up. HOLD onto his promise.

WAGING WAR AGAINST LAZINESS PT3
 Pst. Favour

DILIGENCE (hard work)

PREDESTINATION IS AN ACT OF GOD. ACTUALISING IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY pst. David Adeoye.

Giving is a trigger for your blessings but work is the basket to hold your blessings. If you're not working and you're giving, God is sending you blessings but you dont have a place to hold them. No wonder when we pray for blessings we hear people say I was blessed with a new job or I got a promotion...

Remember, there is no such thing as luck!

Matthew 20:1-18
1 ¶ For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
 2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. {penny: the Roman penny is the eighth part of an ounce, which after five shillings the ounce is seven pence halfpenny; about fourteen cents}
3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.
8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first
It is not too late to stop being lazy.

Jesus is still challenging idleness today. Go and work, if you want to increase and multiply. It is only the labourers that are entitled to a wage. The degree of labour
The Bible is very clear on the issue of personal input in order to taste the grapes of comfort.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

In the Scriptures, lack is usually associated with idleness and folding of hands.
Proverbs 13:4 The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
Proverbs 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Proverbs 13:23 Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.

These Scriptures establish the fact that every one’s ground has what it takes to get him accomplished, fulfilled and successful in life, if only he will "till" it. This truth is established in yet another Scripture:
Proverbs 12:11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
Your ground is the work of your hands, it’s our diligence in tilling the land God has given us that will yield for us the desired fruit. Part of man’s responsibility in the covenant of prosperity is to work with his hands.
When you work diligently, you position yourself for the blessing, when you give, you trigger the blessing that you have positioned yourself for. Work is one of the avenues of receiving the harvest from your sowing and giving. Work is the basket with which we collect harvest from our givings, so if you do not work, then you have nowhere to receive the harvest with thus you remain in financial distress.
Jesus also said:
John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Again, He said, "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work." Since the servant is not greater than his Master, if Jesus is working, we cannot afford to fold our hands. Increases respond to our personal inputs as covenant people. Apostle Paul said:
1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

It could be illustrated this way: the seed sown can be interpreted as the watering, after which God gives the increase. The prosperity of the giver is via "whatsoever he doeth" (Psalm. 1:3). Having believed and given precious seeds severally, the returns promised are channelled through the works of our hands.
Beginning with Abraham, all the blessed patriarchs were hard working people. At age 75, Abraham was a cattle rearer.
Genesis 13:2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

Isaac was an established farmer. "And Isaac sowed in that land." He was a tiller of ground! The covenant pattern son had to till the ground to obtain the blessings of the covenant. No idle man has a part in this covenant.
Genesis 26:12-14 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Jacob was a blessed man, but not without strong personal inputs. A specialist farmer he was. He had this testimony at the end:
Genesis 30:43 And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is still a covenant-keeping God, who responds with blessings to the diligent inputs of His people. Abraham was still a worker when he was past the age of 75. Jacob laboured in the house of Laban as a slave and Isaac cultivated in the days of drought. If these patriarchs could work, no one has an excuse to be idle.
Ecclesiastes 11:4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.
Proverbs 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
Proverbs 20:4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

We must work to prosper because:
Proverbs 14:23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

We have to work, not just to prosper, but also to maintain the prosperity.
Proverbs 13:11 Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
